Answers to your booking questions
You can — but a favor comes with no background check, no verified home, and no record of what actually happened while you were gone. PetFena sitters go through the same required checks every time, and every stay's drop-off and pick-up are confirmed and timestamped in the app.
PetFena charges pet parents a 10% service fee plus a flat $2.99 booking fee (once per booking) on top of the stay price, and deducts a 15% commission plus a flat $1.99 booking fee (once per booking) from the sitter's stay earnings. For example, on a $600 booking, the pet parent pays $662.99 total (plus applicable local tax) and the sitter receives $508.01. The $2.99 booking fee isn't refunded if the pet parent cancels a paid stay, but it is if the sitter cancels or doesn't show.
Pick-up has a 15-minute grace period. After that, you're charged for one extra hour at your stay's hourly rate (plus the service fee and tax), and the sitter is paid for it. Message your sitter in the app if you're running late.
Sitters are placed into three tiers — Basic, Standard, and Premium. Every sitter, regardless of tier, passes the same background check and submits at least 3 proof images of their home and pet space. Sitters move up tiers by earning five-star reviews, and higher tiers cost more per hour.
Any animal showing aggression, or any pet with an undisclosed communicable disease, is not permitted and results in account suspension. This protects every pet, sitter, and pet parent on the platform.
When you drop off and pick up your pet, your check-in times are confirmed in the app. This confirms the exact start and end of the stay so billing is accurate to the hour.
Pet parents must fully disclose their pet's medical history, behavior, feeding schedule, and any other care needs. This helps match you with the right sitter and keeps your pet safe and happy.
No. PetFena is strictly an intermediary — we connect pet parents and vetted sitters and process payments, but we are not part of the pet-sitting service and are not liable for incidents between the two parties.

Good sitters get booked early, especially around holidays and weekends. Request your dates now: we match you with the nearest verified sitter and show the full price before you pay. Cancel more than 24 hours before your stay and get everything back except the $2.99 booking fee.
